2024 was challenging as I self-published two books, and neither sold. One was a book about my coming to terms with being a queer witch and psychic medium, and the other was a book about Tarot. So, as I sit here on New Year’s Day 2025 licking my wounds and feeling rather deflated, I’m thinking of doing something different now and putting the information (from my Tarot booky wook) onto this blog to create a free learning resource and then at a later stage try to find a publisher who can help me. You’re very fucking welcome! I am a humanitarian if nothing else!

I’m trying to decide (Seven of Cups) how best to process (Page of Wands) because sometimes it’s necessary to let go of old dreams (Tower) in order to build new ones. The new moon in Capricorn (The Moon) illuminated a new Magicakl path which was previously hidden from view. The Page of Wands now becomes a noun (a website) and the verb (to build). It is an imperative from my deep mind saying – ‘build’ – but more than that ‘If you build it they will come’. It’s also like the one word ‘dig’ in the film Stir of Echos. The Moon becomes the doorway to the river of souls. They are asking me to build.

There is a ghost in the centre of the Seven of Cups who represents the rune Eiwaz and the great tree Yggdrasil – the tree of the Universe and the lineage of our ancestors. From the destruction of The Tower comes rebirth and renewal but also guidance from Mother Nature (The Empress) who is also a representation of Diana the goddess of hunting. It’s another imperative ‘hunt’ or perhaps ‘shine’ as people regard Diana and the moon as one in the same – according to Wikipedia – the moon (Luna – my daughter’s name) is so called from the Italian verb to shine – lucere. 

When I typed this verb into Google, the phrase – ‘Lucevan gli occhi suoi più che la stella’ appeared, which means ‘His eyes shone brighter than a star’, which is interesting because it is the name of my mother ‘The Empress’ who I believe to be quite the covert narcissist and who is the main cause of my Impostor Syndrome which causes me ‘to self-sabotage’ – The Tower. It’s amazing how these two Major Arcana cards of destruction and rebirth – Tower – Empress – seem to swing like a pendulum in a terrible rhythm, expressing, along with the ambivalence of The Seven of Cups, the Impostor Syndrome, self-doubt, and indecision which has plagued me my whole life. But also it’s asking me to let that shit go once and for all so I can move forward ‘The Page of Wands’.

And in the near future another imperative from my deep mind – The Fool – asking walk away from trouble. It’s interesting that the direction The Fool faces is towards the Page of Wands – this may be an instruction to follow the wands! Let’s see if any more appear in the reading. I like to match the suits to find the flow of the narrative. At this point, before card number 7, I’m going to reshuffle – riffle with a bridge – once then do an overhand to the number 10. When I get these intuitive hits from my deep mind asking me to do stuff I pay attention! I also got an intuitive hit telling me to turn half the deck upside down so we now have reversals for the latter half of the reading. Ten is the Wheel of Fortune in the Major Arcana which to me represents the verb ‘to evolve’. This is showing me the way forward. 

How I’m feeling – The Knight of Cups RX – I’ve taken a step back and have disengaged from all social media apart from this blog on my website. I realised I had to protect my energy which was being drained by the constant pressure to perform like a circus sideshow act on TikTok but also I needed to put myself first and be my own therapist – the Knight of Cups RX = my favourite quote from Samantha Jones in Sex and the City which goes something like – “I love you Hunny, but I love me more”.

The Four of Pentacles RX – environmental factors – ‘to have problems selling something’ – in my case two things – neither of my books sold hence the need to go back to the drawing board and consider my options – Seven of Cups – Page of Wands. 

Hopes and Fears – The Ten of Swords RX – this is what I call an exclamation mark of an imperative asking me to ‘empty your box of fucks’.

The fear part is expressed by The Fool – I am afraid – verb ‘to be afraid’ expressed by The Moon – to look like a fool if my booky wooks don’t sell. Finally, a highly unusual card to end the reading – The Eight of Wands RX. But perhaps not as I had an intuitive hit earlier asking me to ‘follow the wands’. So there is a connection between the Page of Wands and the Eight of Wands RX. It’s a final suggestion from my deep mind saying ‘Less haste more speed’ – in other words slow down. I’m quite certain that I have undiagnosed ADHD which causes me to rush forward and do things quickly without taking my time and this leads to problems. I had the intuitive hit earlier telling me to shuffle reversals into the deck and we have four reversed cards finishing our spread further emphasising the need to take things slow and to plan properly! Ok, that was a great reading to begin 2025 and a wonderful way to show you guys how I read for myself.
