You don’t teach yourself to read Tarot cards; other people teach you how to read Tarot cards, because what you quickly begin to realise is that Tarot is a symbolic representation of all stages of the human experience from birth to death and beyond! Being a Psychic Medium Seer, it’s the beyond bit that really fascinates me.

Now, if, like me, you tend to be rather anti-social, like your privacy, suffer from social phobia, have to cope with a range of mental health issues such as agoraphobia, personality disorders, and generally feel like you are on the outside, of the outside, of the outside, and are a solitary practionioner of Magick and Witchcraft who tends to prefer cats to people, this makes the process of practising rather challenging! This is where social media can be your best friend or your worst enemy, or sometimes both at the same time.

The most useful app I found with which to practise is TikTok because of the sheer volume of people who use it, and because of the speed with which, if dedicated and determined, one can gain thousands of followers and grow an audience of fans who will watch your livestreams on a regular basis, providing you entertain them and do what you claim you can do! This is the important part and the whole reason I am writing this book. You see, social media these days is filled with scammers. It’s also filled with people who don’t know what they are talking about. This is a good thing in a way, because firstly you can watch people reading cards badly to see what you don’t want to do, and secondly because if you can master the art of Tarot and get thing right, you’ll stand out from the crowd and not only will you gain followers with whom you can practise, but you’ll get gifts too! But here is a word of warning: TikTok makes it easy for your followers to give you gifts as their sign of appreciation, but you only get a small percentage. I’m not sure exactly what the percentage is but I know that TikTok take at least 50% of the gifts, so if someone gives you a Galaxy for example, well, according to my friend Google – “A “Galaxy” gift on TikTok costs 1,000 coins, which translates to roughly $13-$15 USD depending on the coin package purchased. However, the TikTok creator doesn’t receive the full amount, as TikTok takes a 50% commission, meaning they get about $7-$8 USD.” In pounds, I believe a Galaxy costs about £10.60 and the last time I was gifted one, I’m pretty sure I received less than £5, so the claim that TikTok take 50% may not be true! They may well take more like 60% or even 70%.

What I ended up doing was to create a PayPal.me account to make it easy for people to give me donations, and I’d tell them that I’d get most of the donation, whereas if they gave me a TikTok gift, I’d get maybe 50% or even less of their hard-earned cash! I used to make a sign which read “Readings Are Free But Cat Food Isn’t” with my PayPal and put it behind me during the live streams. And yes, it totally worked!

A lot of people who use TikTok are lovely, and genuine, and friendly, and polite, and supportive. Other people who use TikTok are not. That’s life. That’s social media. There are things you can do to mitigate your damages. Here are some things I did that really helped.

  1. I followed accounts of people who are into the same things I am into, like Tarot, Witchcraft, Cats, LGBTQIA issues, Meditation, Reiki, Healing, Spirituality, Comedy, Books, and generally raising the vibration of the planet.
  2. I set up keyword filters everywhere and especially in the live streams. So I blocked words like scammer, fraud, fake, Devil, Sin, Hell, and anything I could think of that a troll would use to attack me. Over time you encounter the same types of trolls over and over, so it’s easy to predict the insults. I used to think of myself as a bouncer at a nightclub!
  3. I asked people to be moderators so they could catch any negativity and hit the block button. A lot of TikTok users love doing this so don’t be afraid to ask!
  4. I did a lot of ‘General Readings’ that I’d share with followers on a daily basis to show them what kinds of readings they could expect during the livestreams. This is the advertising bit! And it really works, providing you offer readings that are meaningful and beneficial.
  5. I bought a Steampunk style top hat that I decorated with feathers and Tarot cards. I sometimes wore a wig to complete the character. I wanted to make myself into an old-fashioned fairground-type Tarot reader. Behind me, I had all my books on display, plus a large crystal ball and some candles. Creating an interesting and fun atmosphere really helps! A live stream is a show, and you are a performer. You want to keep people engaged, and you want them to tip. This is how you know you’re doing a good job! I’ve previously worked as a waiter, and this experience really helped me with doing live streams.
  6. I cleansed my space before doing a live stream. Usually, using Sage to smudge. I don’t have any social media at the moment, but if I were still doing live streams, I’d use the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram to cleanse the space first of all. In fact, my twice-daily rituals, including The Middle Pillar Ritual, would be perfect for banishing any negative energy in preparation for doing a live stream and for cleansing your space and your aura after doing a live stream. The practice of daily Ritual Magick is good aura hygiene. It’s like brushing your teeth morning and night or washing your body, your clothes, and your home.
  7. I sent out a telepathic message to say that I was offering ‘free’ readings and that I am a Psychic Medium here to help people connect with relatives who have crossed over. I found this to be incredibly beneficial. As a Lenormand Grand Tableau reader, I’d usually do a few small Tarot readings and then one long reading using the Leno GT, which would usually be mediumistic in nature.

I used live streams mainly to practise and to research techniques I could later write about. I’ve already begun working on my Lenormand book, and without my experiences of doing live stream readings, I would not have gained the experience I needed to be able to use this system. Reading cards, is a lot like tattooing. I used to work in a Tattoo studio as a receptionist, and I’d ask the tattoo artists how they learned to tattoo, and they told me that you can be the best artist in the world, but the only way you can learn to tattoo well is to tattoo badly! You need people to practise on. Many would practise on themselves! The sign of a really good tattoo artist is a ton of bad tattoos on their legs from hours of practice! The sign of a really good Tarot reader is stories of their mistakes!

Getting back to what I was saying about how social media can be your best friend and your worst enemy, well, I have had some awful experiences. When I started reading cards, or rather trying to read cards for people, I would just regurgitate the same information I’d heard other people say, like “the High Priestess means ‘intuition’”. I’d get a lot of things wrong. I’d get attacked by tons of trolls claiming I was a scammer, I was fake, I was going to hell. I had every homophobe on TikTok coming after me. I was hurt, I was insulted, I was scared. I’ve had more TikTok accounts than I care to remember! It was not smooth sailing at all! I had nights where I would sit on my own for two hours without a single person talking to me.

But gradually, you learn how to use Magick and Witchcraft to protect yourself and to attract the energy you want to attract and to banish the energy you want to banish. The practice of Magick is cumulative, meaning that it slowly increases over time, and you gradually strengthen your aura over time. It really is like going to the gym and doing pushups. At first, you can only do one, but then gradually you build up until you find you can do twenty, then thirty, then fifty! But it takes time! And you have to keep doing it. That’s the secret. I found that every time I took a break from doing readings online, it would take me a while to get back into the groove.

The first practice that made a big difference for me was asking people to come into the box and talk to me during a live stream. They have the option on TikTok to just use audio or to use video. Most folks prefer to keep their faces hidden, so they’d just use audio. This does require you and the other person to overcome any shyness, but you learn to do this over time in a friendly way that allows you both to feel comfortable. Get them in the box, ask your viewers to give them a round of applause using emojis, or send hearts, and start by asking them about their day. Talk to them as you would to a friend. This breaks the ice. I used to write funny songs and poems and tell them jokes to make them laugh or play music to get us in the mood. I also used to flirt outrageously. This helps too! Everyone loves a spot of flirting!

Hey, if you need a few drinks to loosen you up a bit then go for it, but just don’t get too drunk otherwise you’ll find that either you won’t be able to read or you’ll open up your third eye too much (usually with vodka) and suddenly you’ll be overwhelmed with information or downloads! And yes, this has happened to me on many occasions!

One technique I learned years ago was to imagine my third eye was a lotus flower. Then imagine closing all the petals tight, and then you can leave just one petal open to allow a flow of psychic energy to enter. If you need more, open more petals, and if you want a lot of information, you can leave the flower wide open, opening all petals. Sometimes I imagine the third eye lotus flower is made from titanium, so I am fully protected against any negative energy. On Page 54 of Donald Michael Kraig’s book Modern Magick, you’ll find a technique to overcome a Psychic Attack by imagining a pentagram in front of your forehead that you can then send out to reflect any negative energy; however, by learning rituals such as the LBRP (Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram) and incorprotating them into your daily spiritual practises, you’ll find that you’ll attract less and less negative energy in the first place. Not only that, but your Psychic abilities will be greatly increased by using the Middle Pillar Ritual on the daily! Incidentally, I have just begun practising the Saturn Hexagram Ritual, which you can find instructions for on the YouTube channel MageSpace. I am already feeling the benefits of this ritual! So I highly recommend you learn it.

If you prefer to do lots of small readings, then just ask them to write comments, but what you’ll find is that people can be slow to reply, and if you have a lot of people watching, it’s very hard to keep track of the comments, and it is distracting having to read through them. Also, remember that if you ask ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions, then you’re more likely to get ‘no’ answers. This is why I prefer to make observations. It’s easier to make observations during a ‘normal’ conversation. Remember, you’ll be reading for people who have no idea what divination is and who know nothing about Tarot, so it’s up to you to guide them. And oftentimes, with me especially, the message I need to give to them may have nothing to do with their initial question! Sure, they may ask ‘Does he love me?’, when the real question is why they are drinking a bottle of vodka each night and sabotaging every relationship they get into, and the answer is because they were sexually abused at age 12 by their Uncle. You’re not a psychologist, but you are a psychic detective; you need to think like one! I used to say to people I’m a digger. I’m like a little dog digging for a bone. I don’t stop until I get to the root of the problem or get the information I need to clarify the reading. You’ve gotta be tough and you have to have faith in yourself. But this takes time to develop. You build up your Magickal faith slowly over time by getting things right again and again and by getting ‘No’ replies, less and less.

Secondly, I’d always go through a relaxation ritual of some sort, which I’ve already explained how to do. This is vital if you want to have a strong psychic connection with the person you are reading for. Either you can do the ‘Elevator to the library’ meditation, or just count down from ten to one slowly to slow down your brain waves from Beta to Alpha.

My last piece of advice is to understand that you cannot read for everyone. You are not a machine! You are not a performing monkey! If something feels off, don’t do it. If you feel they are lying to you, for example, you get a stomach feeling (or a feeling of tension in your body) instead of a heart feeling (a feeling of peace in your body), don’t do it. If the reading doesn’t make sense to you or the person, don’t do it. But, usually by cleansing your space and sending out a telepathic message to advertise beforehand, or by doing any kind of rituals, grounding, meditation, or whatever daily spiritual practices that work for you, you will find you are far less likely to attract people for whom you are unable to read. This is how ‘Law of Attraction’ works. The more you can raise your vibration, the more easily you can attract higher vibrational energy into your space during a live stream.

The Five Card ‘Bullseye’ Spread

I want to think that I invented this spread, although I’m sure it already existed in many forms long before I thought of laying cards out in this manner. What makes this spread so useful is that we have a central card or bulleye, which will usually provide the scene. It gives us the ‘why’. It will often immediately allow you to see exactly what is on the person’s mind at the time of the reading. But this spread is so much more than that! You notice I do not assign meanings to the positions. Imagine how limited, and frankly boring, it would be if I were to assign the following positions –

  1. The present situation.
  2. The recent past.
  3. What we need to let go of.
  4. The near future.
  5. What we need more of in life.

Not only would we be focusing on thinking of interpretations, probably pretty standard ones, that fit those categories, but also we’d be conjugating our verbs in the present tense only for card 1, the past tense only for card 2, and the future tense only for card 4, again limiting our creativity! It would be like telling Van Gogh he could only paint within the lines of a Paint by Numbers kit from Amazon! This colour has to be exactly 34 and this one has to be exactly 45! Can you imagine what he’d say to you if he were still alive? So, let’s not do that, shall we!

So, instead of following a prescribed formula, I allow a story to flow into my mind instead. I focus on the story, not the position of the cards. And, what I find is that often the cards will begin to play double duty! So, at first glance, a card will mean ‘this’ and as I progress through the reading, it will mean something else in the context of the story. Usually, what happens is I start with a fact-finding, descriptive reading, which becomes a predictive reading, and then a prescriptive ‘this is how you can mitigate your damages’ reading. In other words, it is multi-layered and multi-dimensional, and in effect, you can end up with a sort of Ten Card reading with just as much information as a traditional Celtic Cross, but without the restriction of assigned positions, allowing for more fluidity and creativity.

So let’s imagine a scenario. Or, maybe I’ll do reading for myself right now on the spot so I can show you how I use this wonderful spread to read for myself! After all, I really should put my money where my mouth is, considering the fact that I’ve asked you to part with your hard-earned cash to buy this book!

Ok. Let’s go! So, for the record, today is Tuesday, 29th July, 2025, and it is currently 4:55 am. It’s humid at the moment, especially at night, so, not being able to sleep, I came to my desk, lit some candles and incense, and made a coffee. I’m listening to one of my favourite videos on Meditative Mind called ‘OM @528Hz | 1111 Times | Raise your Vibration | Cleanse Bad Energies’. Current mood: I am feeling very good indeed. I feel very centred and calm. Yesterday I received three of the five books I ordered, which I am so excited to read! I purchased ‘The Golden Dawn’ by Israel Regardie, ‘Learning Ritual Magick’ by John Michael Greer, Earl King Jr., and Clare Vaughn, and ‘I’m OK – you’re OK’ by Thomas A. Harris, all of which were recommended in ‘Modern Magick’ by Donald Michael Kraig. I’m still waiting to receive ‘The Power of Vital Force: Fuel Your Energy, Purpose, and Performance with Ancient Secrets of Breath and Meditation’ by Rajshree Patel, and 777 by Aleister Crowley. I’m also about to finally purchase ‘High Magick’ by Damien Echols, which I am so looking forward to reading, as the man is a genius and Magick saved his life on death row! Two YouTube channels I watch a lot are Mage Space and Damien Echols, and these two amazing men have taught me so much! Incidentally, another incredible channel belongs to the wonderful Ariel Gatoga. I recommend Ariel’s vintage lectures if you really enjoy a deep dive into the esoteric!

These days, when I read Tarot, I like to focus mainly on asking for advice from the higher part of my mind or what I call Infinite Intelligence. My light house keeper who guides me through stormy seas. So, this reading is probably going to be more prescriptive in nature, but we’ll see what we get. I’m going to pose this question to Infinite Intelligence. “How may I serve you?” In other words, “What is my Magickal will?” and in discovering my true will, I’m also asking how I can help you, dear reader. How can I make your journey of learning as fun and exciting as possible? And I suppose I’m asking How can I raise the vibration of this planet? At the time of writing this, our world is sadly in turmoil, filled with hatred and stupidity. I’m a Queer solitary witch who wishes to include all letters of LGBTQIA+, and I also speak a little Spanish, so you can imagine what I’m thinking right now about a certain world leader who may well be appearing on a list right about now and who apparently doesn’t enjoy drawing. If you could see me right now, dear reader, you’d see that I’m rolling my eyes. I’m trying my best to keep my personal opinions out of this book, but it’s challenging when I’m living through the circus that I’m living through right at this moment in time! A circus that’s fast resembling Nazi Germany circa 1933. Anyway, back to the reading!

To relax, I did the Relaxation Ritual from Donald Michael Kraig’s ‘Modern Magick’, and a very quick Middle Pillar Ritual during which I  vibrated the names only once, and then I did a quick circulation of light and focused all the energy from the spheres into my heart centre and then imagined the energy flowing into my cards. Later in this book, I’ll give you instructions on how to do all the rituals I do, but I encourage you to peruse my reading list and do as much in-depth study as possible if you are interested in practising Ritual Magick. I find the Middle Pillar particularly useful for not only opening my Third Eye, but also allowing for a flow of Psychic Energy throughout my body, both Physical and non-physical. I then shuffled, cut the deck once, and got the number 34 in my mind, as I was doing an overhand shuffle to 34. I then got the number 27 in my mind, so I stopped at 27.

I’m going to lay out the cards in the order that I showed you in the diagram.

I’m going to share with you the words that came into my mind as I gazed at the cards, and then we’ll break them down.

(KN W) Write a book (Moon) without the expectation of sales (KN P RX) that will enable others to see (2S) what you can see, do (KN P RX) what you can do with your subconscious mind (Moon), find answers (2S), by activating the flow of Psychic energy with the teachings of The Golden Dawn (10 S).

Let me just say, this is one of the most profound and powerful readings I think I have ever done for myself. The simplicity and yet the depth of the message I received by looking at these cards, and the clarity. What I love so much about Tarot is that even though I have pondered these cards, stared at their images thousands of times, with every reading I still see things I’ve never noticed before. In this case, the first thing I noticed was the colour yellow. Notice how it flows from our central card, the handsome Knight with his yellow robe, which is decorated with lizards. Having lived in Spain, this reminds me so much of days living in the sun, staring out at the Mediterranean Sea with its rich array of undulating blues and greens. We have the baked earth behind him and the three pyramids, perhaps representing the Supernal Triad on the Tree of Life which is a group of the three highest serphirot or emanations of power on the Tree comprised of Kether, the crown or Infinite Intelligence, Chokmah (Wisdom) and Binah (Understanding), which for me represent the trio we also see on The Lovers Card representing the conscious mind, the deep mind, and the superconscious mind.

As I am still very much a student rather than an expert, I do not wish to go into too much detail when it comes to Tarot and Kabbalah, however I do want to share with you dear reader, a very interesting article I found on a website called http://www.gnosticmuse.com which I believe illustrates the three triads on the Tree very clearly and which I think will help you in understand my thoughts when interpreting this spread for myself. Tarot is real life. It is not for likes and subscribers on YouTube or followers on Instagram and TikTok, and its occasional blatant and downright shameful misuse (by scammers, for instance) becomes more and more apparent to me as I walk this path. I feel it is my duty to interject some esoteric information, which I feel is of immense value and will benefit you on whatever your chosen path is.

Now, I should say that anytime I use the word ‘God’ anywhere in this book, or quote from other sources which use the word ‘God’, I am not talking about the bearded dude in the sky! To me, this word, which has triggered me, along with many other religious-sounding terms, due to the religious brainwashing I experienced as a child, represents a pre gender force which is the source of power that is beating my heart and making acorns grow into mighty oak trees! Hence why I call it ‘Infinite Intelligence’, or ‘Infinite Love’, or ‘Infinite Peace’ or simply think of it as the higher parts of my mind, or my deep mind, or the Akashic Records. There are many names, but only one source, one force, in all the Multiverse. One. Or simply Light. Likewise, anytime you see terms like ‘Holy Spirit’ or ‘Holy Guardian Angel’ or any mention of arch angels such as ‘Raphael’, ‘Gabriel, ‘Michael, and ‘Uriel’ or ‘Adam and Eve’, or ‘The Garden of Eden’ these are not people, they are not dieties external to me, they are more like elemental forces – Earth, Air, Fire, Water or simply parts of my deep mind. I am a Solitary Queer Witch, so I’m not part of any religion or any order. I am not Wiccan, and I’m not a Kabalist. I am a student and practitioner of Witchcraft and Magick, and I am simply trying to learn as much as I possibly can about everything I was told not to as a child, so I can raise my vibration, stop the cycle of rebirth, and share what I’ve learned with others! I love reading, and I love finding new ways to think about things. And bear in mind, this is one of four books I am working on, so I guess I’m thinking about all of these concepts and how I can make this esoteric or occult (meaning hidden) information more palatable and user-friendly, and my main aim of this book is to talk about everyday Tarot but with an esoteric twist! So I hope you enjoy my sometimes meandering thoughts as you join me on this voyage of discovery!

Kabbalah: The Three Triads

Posted on September 2, 2014

The Kabbalistic Tree of Life

The Kabbalistic tree of life is an ancient and profound diagram that is intimately related with alchemy, tarot, numerology, Hebraic wisdom, and astrology. A basic understanding and orientation to the map of the tree of life is useful to guide us in our inner work.

The key to studying Kabbalah is in the development of intuition, imagination and inspiration, in order to work with these cosmic forces in a practical manner and not get lost in intellectualism.

Practical Kabbalah

To truly know Kabbalah, to practice it, is to walk the initiatic path.

To incarnate the fruits of the tree of life requires an esoteric and psychological work. To move beyond our selfish nature, to love and sacrifice for others, always remembering shekinah, the divine grace, the gift of God.

Each sephirah, each pathway, each dimension, each pillar, is a lifetime of study and reflection unto itself. The focus of this article is the three triads that divide the nine superior sephiroth into three basic levels.

Logoic Triangle

The topmost triad is the logic, or supernal, triangle. The holy trifecta of Father, Son, Holy Spirit, also known as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, or Osiris, Isis and Horus.

This triad contains the mystery of the trimurti or the trifecta in Christianity. Chokmah, the Christ, is an unfoldment from Kether, the Father. Binah, the Divine Mother is an unfoldment of the Christ.

Ethical Triangle

The middle triad is the ethical triangle. Revolutionary ethics have nothing to do with right and wrong as we understand it, but always working to have the will of God prevail, to allow the divine influences to guide the lower.

In this triad contains the sephiroth called Chesed, Geburah and Tiphareth.  Here is the mystery of the human soul united to the divine soul, something that happens at a certain stage of initiation, a wedding of the soul to the spirit.

Samael Aun Weor writes in his book, The Initiatic Path in the Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah that while the human soul, which is masculine, works, the divine soul, which is feminine, plays. This is  the union of love that everyone on earth is truly searching for.

The sephiroth Geburah and Chesed represent the balance of justice and mercy. Justice without mercy is tyranny; mercy without justice is anarchy.

Magical Triangle

The lowest triad is the magical triangle, consisting of the mental, astral and vital worlds.

The sephiroth are called Netzach, Hod and Yesod.

We who have our centre of gravity in the physical world can access these higher planes only by uniting our vital force, intention and mind toward the divine. Here is the bridge to access the will of our Being, and the wisdom and love of God. This is the realm of ritual, which is an act that vibrates into other dimensions.

Malkuth

Malkuth is the physical plane. Malkuth is a fallen sephirah.

It is the “wilderness” where Adam and Eve (the Lemurian humanity) were cast after they had eaten the fruits of the tree of knowledge and broken the law of God.

There are 48 cosmic laws in Malkuth, 24 laws in Hod, 12 in Netzach, and only 1 law: the law of love, in Kether.

In Malkuth, we have a much greater struggle against materialism to find the spiritual, which is understood with a study of the tree of knowledge. We stand on the brink of heaven and hell.

Above us is Yesod, the 9th sphere, the vital sexual force, the way off of the tree. Below us is the Klipoth, the shadow realms, where there are more laws, more darkness, more conditioning.

Allow me to also include further information from my friend Google, and again, let me remind you that to me, God is not a dude in the sky! –

In Kabbalah, Ein Sof (Hebrew: אֵין סוֹף, meaning “infinite” or “no end”) refers to the divine essence before any self-manifestation or creation, representing the limitless and unknowable aspect of God. It is the source from which all existence emanates. Ain (Hebrew: אַיִן), on the other hand, generally means “nothingness” and can be seen as a state preceding even Ein Sof, representing the void or absence of anything.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

  • Ein Sof (אֵין סוֹף):
    • Represents the infinite, limitless, and unknowable aspect of God.
    • It’s the divine origin of all things before any form or manifestation.
    • In Lurianic Kabbalah, the first act of creation, the tzimtzum (contraction of God to make space for creation), originates from Ein Sof.
    • In Hasidic thought, Ein Sof is often associated with the “Infinite Light” (Ohr Ein Sof).
  • Ain (אַיִן):
    • Means “nothingness” or “not”.
    • In Kabbalah, it can represent a state preceding even Ein Sof, a primordial void or absence.
    • Some interpretations equate Ain with the absolute nothingness from which all existence arises.
  • Relationship:
    • Ein Sof is understood as the infinite potentiality from which creation emerges, while Ain can be seen as the even more primordial state of nothingness.
    • The relationship between Ain and Ein Sof is complex and subject to various interpretations within Kabbalistic thought.

Now, getting back to my reading! You see how much we got from just the central card – The Knight of Wands, in our spread! This is why I love this Five Card Bullseye spread so much, because it opens my mind in ways that are beautiful and Magickal. Let me again share my initial thoughts, the words that flowed through my mind.

The colour yellow seems to  flow from our Knight of Wands, to the Knight of Pentacles RX, then diagonally to The Moon, then into the smaller moon depicted in the Two of Swords, and finally diagonally down into the golden dawn of The Ten of Swords. Notice I’m not exactly looking at the cards in the order of 1,2,3,4,5. It’s a Tarot reading, not Sudoku. Don’t be too rigid in your thinking. I lay out the cards in the order I have shown you, so my deep has a system to lay out a jigsaw puzzle. This is about establishing a method of translating deep mind imagery into conscious mind sentence creation. A lot of times, I do a reading, and I am pretty much on autopilot. You’ll find that the more you can get your conscious mind out of the way, the better, but you still need to learn systems and interpretations with the left-hand brain so you can broaden your Tarot vocabulary! A lot of times, when I meet people who tell me they are ‘intuitive’ Tarot readers, it means they don’t like studying. Some ‘Intuitive’ readers are amazing and have extraordinary Psychic abilities, and they may be more Clairvoyant than Clairaudient, so they see rather than hear, in which case they don’t really need to study anything. I’m not one of those people, sadly. I wish I were, I could have saved a fortune in buying books! My aim is to teach you how to develop your left and right brain, as this is the method that’s working really well for me, and frankly, I have not found another book that talks about Tarot in this way, so seeing a gap in the market, I took my chance and decided to create The Tarot Dictionary.

Notice as well the dryness of the landscape in The Knight of Wands and the Knight of Pentacles RX, compared to the wetness of the water in the Two of Swords, The Moon, and The Ten of Swords. Colour-wise, The Two of Swords and The Moon are very similar, with lots of blue, a cool sort of night-time blue, emphasising the darkness of the subconscious mind compared with the brightness of our two Knights. Notice that only one card is reversed, and this is our Knight of Pentacles; he is the Knight of the physical realm. Our Knight of Wands, in this case representing my creativity as a writer and Tarot enthusiast, and Magician is facing the two moons; he is peering deep into the subconscious mind to explore the realm of spirits.

Now, let’s think about my usual primary vibes alongside the ideas that I have shared, as you’re probably thinking – ‘These ideas are not what you said you normally think’. I want to show you how I came to this interpretation and why, because I know at first it may be difficult to understand how I’m doing this. I should say that Knights tend to represent taking action because in days gone by they would have done things on behalf of the King and Queen.

The Knight of Pen RXTo have / To be / To do things in the physical world.. without the expectation of sales (in other words, without being focused on a set and definite goal so that I am guided by Infinite Intelligence / the higher part of my mind).. do what you do with your subconscious mind.. (in other words getting intutive hits rather than using left brain to find the right interpretation of the card)
The Ten of SwordsTo complete / To end / To be stabbed in the back / To not worry about what others think
.. by activating the flow of Psychic energy.. (notice the swords flowing up the Chakra points as if awakening Kundalini energy).. with the teachings of The Golden Dawn (notice the fact that we have a golden dawn in the image on the card and that I just purchased a book called ‘The Golden Dawn’.

Finally, let’s just recap what my initial thoughts were..

I wrote more about the Five Card Bullseye Spread, much, much more, than I had planned to write. But, again, I want to show you the importance of not only reading for yourself, but also really breaking down a spread so that you can go deeper in your analysis because new means of interpreting cards, like new words in a foreign language, need only be learned once! When I moved to Spain in the summer of 2015, I lived for a while in the beautiful little town of Altea, which lies about 10km outside of Benidorm and one day I noticed a shop selling kitchen equipment and various tools called a ‘Ferretería’, which we’d call a hardware shop in English. There was a sign in the window with a word I did not recognise. It said ‘Tijeras’. It was such an unusual word! I looked it up, and the word ‘Tijeras’ means scissors. I only had to learn that word once. Tarot for me is like that, but easier because you already know all of the words in English; you just have to connect them to the pictures on the cards, and this happens with repetition and practice. Before you know it, you’ll have a vast Tarot vocabulary at your disposal, and you’ll find yourself dreaming in the language of Tarot.

Have fun doing readings. Have fun practising. The more you enjoy yourself, the more you’ll want to do it! I found the Five Card Bullseye Spread worked great for TikTok as it allowed me to get to the heart of the matter very quickly and to clarify the reading easily. But try out different techniques to find what works for you. And if you find you are struggling at first, remember that Tarot is a language. If you decided to learn Spanish you wouldn’t expect to be fluent in just a few lessons! We learn by making mistakes, so embrace them and use them. People will teach you how to read Tarot. The bad experiences will teach you how to read Tarot. Embrace the journey! I believe in you.
